The Ossabaw pig, when allowed to eat excess food in captivity, can build five times more body fat than in production pigs, and become morbidly fat.

We supply FELASA-certified disease-free Ossabaw pigs and tools for research within the Ossabaw Facility, including collaboration and contract research with outside parties.
A unique and active mutually beneficial environment
Housed at DTU Health Tech, we have access to advanced platforms for immunoassay development, high-throughput transcriptomics, cellular characterization, sequencing and mass spectrometry as well as on-site section rooms and bioimaging facilities.
Breeding facility
The DTU Ossabaw miniature pigs are exclusively bred within a barrier unit closely monitored by veterinary and animal caretaker staff with many years of experience with pig breeding and management.
